A collection of hardbound books as well as a rules manual for the Northern Pacific Railway. First, a great coffee table book called "The Northern Pacific," A collection of the best black and white photographs of Warren McGee and Ronald Nixon of railroads in the Pacific Northwest from 1930-1970, including the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific, the Great Northern, the Northern Pacific, the Spokane, Portland & Seattle, the Union Pacific, the Butte, Anaconda & Pacific, and the Spokane International railroads. One chapter is in color. With introductions by McGee and Nixon. This book was issued after the warm response given to "Northern Pacific Railway of McGee and Nixon," also by Green, but is a different book. Almost 350 photos of the locomotives in action, covering steam electric and diesel, from Mikados and Northerns to Pacifics and Prairies. Includes several maps which pinpoint where the photos were taken. Perfect for the modeler as the environment in each shot, whether in the mountains or at a station, can be clearly seen. 262 pages. Also offered is "Northern Pacific Superstream Era 1925-1945 by Robert Frey. This book tells the fascinating story of the development of Northern Pacific's most powerful and advanced steam locomotives. Motive power such as the trend-setting 4-8-4's, and the powerful 2-8-8-4 and 4-6-6-4 locomotives. With vast reserves of low-cost coal along its lines, it was only natural the road did not grap onto dieselization immediately. Lastly, "Classic Stem Era" also by Robert Frey. Books all have intact dust jackets with only slight tears. Please see photos for more detail and condition.
