Lot of three pieces. 1) VERY EARLY 1834 stock certificate # 5 for 3 shares to James E Bettner. Signed by William Woolsey. 2) 1835 number 4 receipt for three shares to Bettner and signed by Woolsey. William W Woolsey was the original director. 3) 1851 stock certificate to Blaney and signed by Warren and treasurer Dalton. Two vignettes: harbor scene adn train going over a bridge. The Boston and Providence Railroad was a railroad company in the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island which connected its namesake cities. It opened in two sections in 1834 and 1835 - one of the first rail lines in the United States. Branches were built to Dedham in 1834, Stoughton in 1845, and North Attleboro in 1871.
