Early 1879 Boulder mining stock! Inc. in Colorado. No. 233, issued for 10 shares to company president Samuel P. Conger on Sept. 21st, 1879 in Denver. Signed by Conger as president and the company secretary Brewster. Not cancelled. Ornate border and vignette of miners working underground. Printed by Collier & Cleaveland Lith., Denver. Deep folds and creases. 6 x 10" The company was inc. in 1877 with Conger as superintendent. They had a 100 stamp mill powered by water, 6 lodes or veins 150 x 1500 feet each, and 1,200 acres of mineral and agricultural lands in the Grand Island Mining District, located 2 miles from Nederland and 18 miles from Boulder. The Boulder County claim owned by the company was originally located in 1870, with a vein 4.5 feet in width, ore containing galena, free gold & silver assaying $50 per ton, and a main shaft 150 ft. deep.
