Henry E. Boyes discovered hot springs in central Sonoma Valley in 1895, and with his wife named the spot Agua Rica. They started Boyes Hot Springs which became an attraction for tens of thousands of people who visited the area. The hotel closed during the Great Depression, and the site became a training center for Bay-area sports teams. The US Navy sent sailors to the area for recreation during WWII. The original Boyes Hot Springs is now the site of the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa. The street beside it is named Boyes Blvd. today. This lot contains four images of Boyes Hot Springs from it's glory days.
