Brass powder horn recovered from the S.S. Central America shipwreck in 2014. This gun was seen clearly in situ in photographs taken during recovery. It is 5.5 inches long, 2-5/8 inches wide, and 1-1/4 inch thick at the neck. The nozzle diameter is just over 3/8 inch at the thickest. Both sides of the body have an embossed eagle in flight. The body appears to be sound with some greenish corrosion on all sides. Contents rattle when shaken. No attempt was made to open the item.
