Location: Devil's Gate Mining District, El Dorado Ledge. Black on green. Beehive vignette. Towne & Bacon printer. Not cancelled. Some discoloration and minor edge issues on left. A $1.00 assessment was levied as early as June of 1863. Forcade's stock was offered for sale in September of 1863 for failure to pay this assessment. (CDNC) Not listed in Collins. Brennus might refer to a Gallic war chief of the Senones who sacked and occupied Rome in 390 BC. Famous for uttering "Woe to the Vanquished" when he conquered Rome.
