Lot of 3. 1) Ayer's American Almanac, 1885, Published by Dr. JC Ayer & Co., Lowell, Mass. Describes the various elixirs and their purported effectiveness. Go with your Ayers drug bottles. 7.5 x 5" 2) Unissued stock for the F. Ruhstaller Estate Company with vignette of Ruhstaller. The Ruhstaller Brewery was founded in 1881 by Captain Frank Ruhstaller at the age of 35. Ruhstaller was a Swiss marksman who also opened the City Brewery, which was the largest brewery west of the Mississippi. Sacramento, with fresh mountain water, locally grown hops and barley, and the invention of the refrigerated railcar, became the ideal location for brewing. Ruhstaller's son, Frank Jr., studied with his father and eventually took over Buffalo Brewery. 3) Advertising pamphlet for carbonated beverages by John Kolling, Barcal Springs, Preston, California. 3.5 x 6" Undated.
