Broken Potters Shards found on the SS Central America (5) These appear to be stained ironwood pottery evidenced by iron stain on the fractured surfaces. Piece one measures 2.25 x 1.75 inches, slight staining. Piece two measures 4 x 2.25 inches no staining with small chip on front. Pieces one and two appear to be shards from a wash basin. Piece three measures 3 x 2.75 Inches in a triangle shape with some staining and small chip on reverse side. Piece four measures 1.25 x 2.25 inches no staining or chips. Piece five measures 3 x 4 inches and has a chip on one size approximately .75 x .25 inches. Pieces four and five appear to fit together. All pieces are slightly rounded and have cracks in the glazing. These pieces came up with the harvest on the edge of the Gold Room according to gold harvest sea photos.
