10" x 13" signed at upper right. Excellent condition. On the back is the original paper label "The Roosevelt Base-relief/ by James Earl Fraser / Copyrighted. Patented applied for / all rights reserved by / Decorative Arts league / 175 5th ave New York, NY. This is cast iron painted with a bronze hue. It is possible all were made in this manor and because of their appearance were thought to be bronze. This is an original with the original label attached on the back.

James Earl Fraser (1876-1953) is most famous for designing the Buffalo Nickel. He began sculpting and carving limestone around his home in Mitchell, South Dakota. At age 14 he took classes at the Art Institute of Chicago, and at age 18 created his most famous work of art, "The End of the Trail.": depicting the exhaustion of proud Indian warriors trying to protect their people.
