Lot of 12. Moderate damage with chips and toning. 28.5 x 23" Patriotic imagery including American flags, Revolutionary War, signing of the Declaration, etc. No printer. The Brotherhood of America began in the 1840s as the Brotherhood of the Union, a patriotic and nativist secret society founded by George Lippard in Philadelphia. It promoted ideals such as "Truth, Hope, and Love," supported public education, and used the slogan "America for Americans." By the early 20th century it had evolved into a benevolent mutual-aid organization providing financial and moral support through local lodges known as "Homes" or "Circles." The group declined over time and appears to have dissolved by the late 20th century.
