Issued 1880 Buckeye Mining and Tunneling Co. of Colorado stock. Owned the Silver Cliff mine with assays $20-75/ton. Large masses of cerargyrite (75% silver chloride) of this ore were mined near the surface works which yielded 30-50 oz/ton. Alex M. Cassidy lived in Colorado for some time before becoming president of this company. In 1862, he purchased oil claims at Oil Springs, Fremont County from Gabriel Bowen. Cassidy sunk six wells that were moderately profitable. This is the boom period for the Silver Cliff Mining District.
