Rare mining district. # 40(or 70) for 5 shares (numbers 256 to 260) for T. J. Jenkins on August 21, 1863. Dateline San Francisco. Secretary H. B. Minott and president George L. Kenny. "Fort Pitt Ledge / Buena Vista Gold & Silver Mining Co. / Prince Royal District, Humboldt County" printed on top. Vignette of miner heading to work while another pushes an ore cart out of a tunnel. Not a common vignette. Rare Lithographer Drouaallet [sic], San Francisco. Cut a little erratically. Some pin holes. Prince Royal Mining District is near Imlay, Nevada. The Fort Pitt Ledge was its bread and butter. However, as the Virginia Evening Bulletin described it, "Items from this district are like angels visits, few and far between."
