This is Buffalo Bill Cody's brass frame pistol made by the American Standard Tool Co. Newark, New Jersey and is inscribed as such. It is chambered in .22 cal. black powder, was factory engraved and owned by "Bill Cody"; engraved on the left side of the frame. It is a 7 shot pistol S/N 318XX . It has fourteen cylinder rests to park the hammer spur between loaded cylinders. The cylinder scene is light but visible and the pistol needs mechanical attention. American Standard Tool Co. closely copied early Smith and Wesson #1 pistols . This an excellent and rare variation of the S&W #1 pistol with celebrity status of being owned by young Buffalo Bill Cody. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Western Americana that was carried by an American Legend, the famous Buffalo Bill Cody.

The belt was made by T. Flinn of Pueblo, Colorado who also supplied saddles for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show before W. F. Cody was famous. This is an original 42 loop rifle cartridge belt of 45-70 cal.. Bill Cody had T. Flinn personally modify the belt whereas 20 belt loops have been removed for replacement for a single action .45 cal. Army holster and gun. Buffalo Bill also had a small holster riveted to this gun belt to hold his American Standard Tool Co. .22 at the small of his back. This indicates that Buffalo Bill had a primary gun plus the .22 American Standard pistol as back-up. All set for righted draw. State: City: Date: ID# 49646
