Pen cancelled. Blue gray border and print with detailed vignette of oil derrick, locomotive, and steamboat. Printed by J. Haebulon, Philadelphia. 25 cent US IR stamp attached on the left border. Wrinkles around edges, discoloration on left side. 7.25 x 10.75" Operated the Richards Well. On June 20, 1863, at the height of the Civil War, Pleasants County was one of fifty Virginia counties that entered the Union as the state of West Virginia.
