This is a wonderful lot of mining collectibles centered around the Montgomery Shoshone Consolidated Mining Company of Bullfrog, Nevada. It includes two stock certificates, one issued on November 30, 1906, for 100 shares to William W. Cohen and signed by D.H. Peery, vice president (who later died in Los Angeles and was replaced by his brother, H.E. Peery) and E.H. Mead, secretary. The second stock was issued on June 16, 1910, for one share to John F. Wallace. This certificate is ornamented by the photo of a man in a headdress. The lot also includes two printed reports to stockholders from February and November of 1907. The February report is smaller and includes a map of the claims and a colored map of the underground workings in relationship to the claim boundaries. The November report includes a before-and-after center-fold photograph of the significant improvements in infrastructure that occurred over the previous year. Lastly, this lot includes a mimeographed geologic report from 1905, signed by the author that includes two diazo-type cross sections of the ore body as it relates to the various claims. It is an interesting read as it describes the ore body in terms that a lay person could understand. All documents are in remarkably fine condition with no tears or missing pieces.
