In 1906 just a few short years after gold was discovered in Goldfield, the small desert area became the site of the last great gold rush in Nevada's history. While the mining camp soon grew into a booming town, railroads were needed to help support the productive mining economy. Eyeing potential in the Bullfrog district, John Brock of the Tonopah and Goldfield Railroad announced the formation of another railroad company, the Bullfrog Goldfield. This one would be a nominal extension of the Tonopah and Goldfield Railroad, and would extend those lines south from Goldfield into the Bullfrog District. While work began in 1906, it wasn't until Spring of 1907 that the final spike was driven in Goldfield. The promises of the mines soon began to fail however in 1910, and by 1928 the Railroad was abandoned. This ticket dater is dated June 12, 1924 and was manufactured by Independent M.F.G. Co. and listed it lists the item as a Centennial Dater. There is some wear on the paint used to detail the dater.
