Bunker Hill Smelter lead ingot and original box. It measures 2-7/8" x 1/2" x 1/2", and weighs approximately 125 grams. The slightly larger box reads, "Compliments of Bunker Hill Smelter, owned and operated by Bunker Hill & Sullivan Mining and Concentrating Co., Kellogg, Idaho. Producers of 'Bunker Hill Brand' refined pig lead. Producers also of antimonial lead, refined gold, silver and cadmium metal." The Bunker Hill Mine and Smelting Complex, which was located in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho mining district, was the largest smelting facility in the world. Phillip O'Rourke filed the Bunker Hill mining claim in 1885. Simeon Reed bought the Bunker Hill Mine and Mill, and incorporated the Bunker Hill and Sullivan Mining and Concentrating Company in 1887. The Bunker Hill mine and smelter complex closed in 1982.
