The Bunker Hill Mining District is 17 miles southwest of Austin, Nevada. It was formed on August 19, 1863 and around 1865 was consolidated with the Summit Mining District. By 1869 all mining had effectively stopped. Incorporated in New York. No. 128, issued for 2 shares to E.F. Walsh on January 23, 1867 in New York. Signed by David Christy, president, and Thomas J. Harlan, secretary. Not cancelled. Green seal, ornate logo and border. Two mining vignettes: prospectors at surface (top center) and underground hoisting scene (bottom right). Printed by Henry Seibert. Folds, very light wear. Very fine. 6.75 x 11" Not in Filer. Not listed as a producer by Browne, 1866-67.
