Has a choice pictorial vignette of an owl sitting on a crescent moon with the caption "Butte Nest No. 16" (Owl Lodge, Brotherhood of Owls) A. Mackel * The First Execution May, 1907 Jan, 1908. Alexander Mackel was a Butte Lawyer who was 6'6 and 358 pounds. He was jailed in 1916 for intoxicated driving when he crashed his automobile into a cart drunk. The first execution was the memorandum of agreement between the Butte Blacksmiths and Helpers Union, No. 456, International Brotherhood of Blacksmiths and Helpers, and The Boston and Montana Consolidated Copper and Silver Mining Company.
