Lot of 5. 1) Moulton Mining Company. Two different style stocks. Both issued in 1884 to TR Jones. Signed by WA Clark as president. Punch cancelled signatures. Blue and green colors, two vignettes incl. mine drilling scene. ABN. Pinholes, folds. WA Clark was one of the three Butte "Copper Kings." Clark worked mining in Colorado before heading for the Montana Gold Rush. He was more successful as a trader than miner at first. Later, he went into banking in Deer Lodge, Montana, repossessing defaulted mining claims. Slowly, he became a powerful mining force. He also served as a US Senator from Montana, 1901-1907. The Moulton Mining Company operated the "Frank Moulton" claim beginning in 1878. It was located at Walkerville in the Summit Valley Mining District near Butte. 2) North Butte Mining Company. Three stocks, two varieties. Issued 1907, 1912, and 1928. All punch cancelled. Orange and green colors. Mine drilling vignette. ABN. Folds, pinholes.
