Six stereoscope cards by Carleton Watkins, c. 1870. Each card features a pair of near-identical images. Watkins was an influential landscape photographer known for his documentation of California and the Pacific Coast. The photos show various views of the Sunny Slope Ranch in San Gabriel, California; the set includes photos of orchards, fields, roads, and buildings on the property. During its time, Sunny Slope functioned as a citrus grove, vineyard, winery, and private residence to owner L.J. Rose and his family. The cards have text reading "Watkins' New Series", along with Watkins' San Francisco address. [ San Gabriel California
