Very rare CDV is of the only known painting of Fannin done when he attended West Point. James Fannin (1804-36) was a Georgia merchant who came to Texas in 1834. He was a plantation owner and slave trader. He served as a colonel in the Texas army and fought in 3 battles against Mexican forces in 1835. He and his men were captured on their way to help defend the Alamo at the Battle of Coleto Creek, They were then executed on March 27, 1836 at Goliad, Texas. Date: City: State: Texas HWAC# 77605
