This cabinet card photo was made by E.G. Cummings in Lewiston, Idaho. Date unknown, 1889 or later. Light toning, chip out of lower right corner, pin hole at top right corner. Everett George Cummings is known for his photographs of indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest and the Nez Perce. Lewiston puts him in the middle of the Nez Perce country. He usually photographed locals but also photographed indigenous people without knowing that his work there would later define him. These two Native American women look healthy and serene.
