This cabinet card measures 4.25 in. X 6.5 in. of General Nelson Miles c.1898 from the Nielen's Studio. General Miles served in three major campaigns during his lifetime; the Civil War, the Indian Wars, and the Spanish-American War. He received the Medal of Honor in 1892 for being wounded in battle at Chancellorsville during the Civil War where he took a round to the neck and several more to the abdomen. You might say he was in the thick of things. He was also responsible for the surrender of Geronimo in 1886.This photo shows Miles in his senior years. The photo is in good condition with a crease in middle.
