Good contrast and detail. Location: "Lion and Bee-hive Houses." Reverse has information for photographer C.R. Savage, Art Bazar, Salt Lake City. Views of the Great West. GOld and Silver Medals Awarded Territorial Fair--1888. Minor foxing on front, worse on reverse. The Beehive and Lion houses, built in 1854 and 1856,served as homes for Brigham Young, territorial governor and second president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From 1852 to 1855, the Beehive House was the executive mansion of the Territory of Utah. The Lion House was the home for Young's wives and children. He died in it in 1877.
