85 shares of $100 each stock in Cahuenga Valley Railroad Company on stock number 13 dates February 1893;

Route: On Western Ave. from Santa Monica & Western south to private way a short distance south of Beverly; thence east to Alexandria, then out onto Beverly Boulevard. which it followed to Virgil; thence south on private way to a terminus behind Bimini Baths at about 3rd St., a total distance of about two miles. This line was a relic of the old Cahuenga Valley Railroad which in 1887-88 built a narrow gauge steam dummy line from Los Angeles to Hollywood. Sherman & Clark gained control in 1895 and incorporated various portions of the line in their system. After 1900 this line was used mainly to reach oil wells near Third & Bimini. It was electrified from Santa Monica & Western to Beverly & Alexandria in 1905 and was standardized in 1908. Abandoned and removed in 1915. Operation: PE operated one round trip daily over this line to preserve the franchise. Ken Prag Collection
