This journal gives the buyer a twofer. 1) Cain Consolidated Mining Company Ledger from 1906-1909. A complete look at this mining operation. Journal references include Aurora Store, Northern Bell, Live Yankee, Real Del Monte, Juniata Martinez Lease, Toohey & Kelly, Wide West Lease, Durand Lease, J. S. Cain Company, W. Woodbury, Earl & Company, Surman & Hellwinkle,etc. Many of the mines go back to the earliest glory says when Aurora was thought to be in California. Each transaction includes a description and price like a) J. S. Cain Company, bullion, U. S. Mint, $716.45, b) Durand Lease, cash, A. Hansen, $258.35, c) Aurora Store, lumber, $2.04, d) Cain Consolidated Gold Mining Company, Bodie Railroad Company, 3323 feet of lumber, $99.69, e) Live Yankee Lease, one box of candles, $5.75, f) Real Del Monte, powder & fuse, $9.75. In 1907 the Aurora Mine and 20 Stamp Mill were the only producers of importance in 1907/08 (fh). 2) Bodie Park Museum sign in sheet from 1968 to 1972. There are some interesting notes and visitors; a) p127 February 25, 1969 note on the big snow signed by W. Lee Symmonds curator, b) p127 Kent Pierce of KCRA-TV in Sacramento, c) July 26, 1969 Japanese exchange students, d) p128 grand niece of W. S. Bodie from Scotland, e) p150 three people born in Bodie in the 1890's. Members of Cain family that visited include Sally, Mary Ellen, Margaret, and Terry. Journal measures 16 x 11.5". Incorrect handwritten "bodie, 1906) on front cover. Pages 1 to 117 on Cain Consolidated and pages 118 to 500 are sign in sheets.
