Signed by president Thomas Mooney and the secretary. Not cancelled. Black border and print. Eagle vignette. 25 cent adhesive revenue stamp, pen cancelled. Folds, creases. 2) California Guarantee Investment Company. Issued to COG Miller in 1890. Stamped and punched cancelled. Pinholes, folds.

2) Placer County Mining Stock Certificates. Lot of 4 (3 different), all self-identified. 1) Pemberton Gold Mining Co. Forest Hill District (printed at right). No. 199, issued for 500 shares to Peter French in 1879 in Auburn. Signed by president Samuel Phillips and the secretary. Not cancelled. Black print on yellow paper. Hydraulic mining vignette. Pinholes, dog eared corner. 4.5 x 9" 2) The Rising Sun Gold Mining Co. No. 1518, issued for 100 shares to Geo. Norman in 1881 in New York. Signed by the vice-president and sect. Not cancelled. Black border and print, orange background. Pinholes, folds. 3) The McIntire Mining & Lumbering Co. Two stocks: one unissued and one issued in 1886 for 10 shares to John McIntire (namesake?). Pen cancelled.

3) El Verano Improvement Association and Villa Association. Two stocks. # 241 for 1 share to Pacific Improvement Company. Dateline 1919. Incorporated August 11, 1891. Shares $50. Not cancelled. Nice condition. The El Verano subdivided ranch property into resort hotels, town lots and estate size tracts selling for $300 an acre. HS Crocker Printer.

4) Martha Washington Mining Company Stock - A RARE Women Speculator Mine. # 203 for 625 shares to Mary B Smith. Signed by EJC Gilbert and president S Gertrude Smyth. Dateline 1894 Oakland. Incorporated Sept. 23, 1983. Not cancelled. Black and gold on pink. Gold seal. Quite pleasing to look at. No pin hole, edge of corner issues. Some very light coloring at the fold edges. It was a drift and hydraulic mine. Located at Table Mountain about 5 miles west of Chinese Camp. A report from the state mineralogist in 1894 declared it to be idle! That didn't last long. George had many a mine named for him - Martha not so much.
