Lot of 10+ publications centered on railroad and light rail in the states of California & Washington. First, we have "Electric Railway Pioneer." Well-written and comprehensive history of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad's suburban electrics in Marin County, California. This line was a pioneer in many aspects, introducing power system and block signal designs that made it a test ground for later subway and rapid transit installations. The full flavor of electric commuter operations (and the San Francisco Bay ferries that served Sausalito and Tiburon) is captured in a clear, detailed narrative complemented by evocative black and white photos. Includes section on the Electra, a steeple-cab, standard gauge locomotive built in the NP shops and used for freight haulage from 1903-1906. With rosters listing wooden motor cars, wooden trailer cars, steel suburban coaches, and ferries of the NP and its predecessors. Includes bibliography. Decorative end papers show timetables (front) and Special Rules (back). This is Interurbans Special 84. 126 pages with index. Also included is "To Tacoma By Trolley –The Puget Sound Electric Railway". By Warren W. Wing. Published by PFM Publishing. Copyright 1995. When the Seattle – Tacoma Interurban opened in September 1902 (It became the Puget Sound Electric in November) it was such n engineering marvel and so well built that it was featured prominently in several electric trade journals. PSE used overhead wires for transmission only in the cities, switching to outside third rail in the country. 144 pages illustrated throughout with black and white photos. Hardcover book with dust jacket. Both the book and dust jacket are excellent condition. Next "Apple Country Interurban." By Kenneth G. Johnson. Fascinating and detailed history of the organization, construction and operation of the electric street railways of Yakima, Washington, covering both passenger and freight service. Includes extensive roster and scale model drawings of each piece of YVT rolling stock. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. With maps, bibliography and index. ; I've highlighted which is only three of nine (9) books dealing with the Northwest Pacific Railroad, as well as the "Encyclopedia of Western Railroad History." Dust jackets are all intact, books in excellent condition. Please see photos for more detail and condition.
