Lot of 7: the California Western Railroad & Navigation Co. started in 1885, built by the Fort Bragg Redwood Company to transport coastal redwood to the mill. It ran for decades, and the steam engines gave way to gasoline-powered engines that folks nicknamed "Skunks." The claim was "you could smell them before you saw them. This lot has (4) numbered Timetables, #38 (2), from 1939, #46, from 1945, and #49, from 1946. There is (1) schedule listing Motor Coaches and their daily times, as well as (1) "Skunk" schedule from 1961. Finally, included is a 1917 CWR & N "Through The Redwoods Camping Hunting Fishing" guide. The B&W photos on every page are period perfect for trains, hunting, fishing, camping and recreation in the beautiful redwoods. A map of the train route, with stations, distances and elevations is included. A great group for the California RR collector. (Prag Collection)
