This volume contains a plethora of information about the annexation of California and the early days of the Gold Rush. This was a such a popular volume that Congress ordered 10,000 extra copies to be printed. 977 pages plus 7 maps. Particularly interesting maps of San Francisco and the California Mining District. Rebound in contemporary cloth with leather binding with four raised ridges. Light foxing, otherwise good condition. 6 x 9 inches.
