Around 1866, lumber baron Melvin Cyrus Meeker established several lumber mills in Sonoma County between the Pacific Coast and Santa Rosa, California, along what is now called the Bohemian Parkway. This lot of 65 B&W, amber, and RPC postcards recollect the early-to-mid 1900s when the area was a recreational destination for San Franciscans and tourists visiting the Western US. There are images of buildings, forests, and aquatic recreational facilities. Today the area is still quite rural and the permanent residence of about 300-400 people.
