Mother of Pearl pendant. Approximately 2 x 1.5." On the top of the ribbon in gold is "Captain Samuel Allen." There was a Captain Samuel Allen we have found who was the organizer and leader of a regiment of volunteer militia men of the New Jersey Coast during the Revolutionary War. His unit at one time captured six Tories and executed them. But we cannot be sure this is our Capt. Allen. Back of pendant says William M Allen. One might suppose this is a relative. Ribbon has broken in two. Includes original box of J E Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia. Caldwell was known for its sterling silver work. City: Philadelphia State: Pennsylvania Date: ID# 37611
