"Mines at Leadville, Colorado" printed under mining vignette. Inc. in New York. No. 336, issued for 25 shares to Martin McLauthlin in 1880 in New York. Signed by president CR Bissell and the secretary. Not cancelled. Black border and print with underground mining vignette. Pinholes, deep folds. It is possible this company became the Carbonate Hill Consolidated MC. The Carbonate Hill Consolidated owns three claims on the northwest end of the Carbonate. The workings have been conducted on the Pocahontas claim. The shaft is 240 feet deep and at 180 feet contact was cut and drifts are being run southeast and east. The prospects of the mine are very good at present." [Engineering and Mining Journal, Volume 35, 1883]
