Three bullion shipments to the Carson City Mint. Two are from the Justice Mine at Gold Hill and accompanied by bullion receipts from the Gold Hill Assay office, 1889 and 1890. The 1889 receipt is unusual, for an ingot weighing 1845.50 ozs, 928 fine silver and 045 fine gold. WS James signed the Gold Hill assay, and LL Elrod for the Mint. The 1890 receipt is for two bullion bars, 1070 and 1285 ozs. James signed the Gold Hill receipt, and Bragg for the Mint. The third receipt is dated 1891 for a bullion bar from the Mexican Mill along the Carson River., signed by Manning for the Mint. The first receipt is significant, as the bullion bar is about 192 pounds, far too heavy for a person to lift. About this time, there were complicated rules put in place regarding the size of ingots allowable to certain facilities. The political object was to force silver directly to New Orleans.
