Lot of 7 check sized financial documents, 1 stock certificate and one ledger. 1) The Carson City Savings Bank Ledger [May 14, 1875- March 31, 1881]: shows checks from the bank and deposits over a period of nearly 6 years. Strong cover and spine, sturdy and well preserved. 800 pages. 562 used. 2 1/2" thick. Names of interest include: George Kitzmeyer, Stadmuller, Richard Kirman (Reno Mayor), Gillson & Barber, Bank of California, Jacob Klein, George Tufly, HH Beck (Virginia City merchant), Trevor Coffin, etc. 2) Unused stock certificate in perfect condition c1800's. 3-4) Two So-called silver dollar checks. One 1873 and one 1883. 5) one check to H. Beck stamped Agency of Nevada Bank, Virginia City. Signed by George Tuffly - original trustee. 1882. 6) One unused duplicate of exchange for gold. 7) 1881 check for $30 from Richard Kirman to self - original trustee. 8) 1879 check. 9) 1883 check. Carson City bank was incorporated in 1875, due to the need for a banking system to establish in Carson City, even more so due to the opening of the Carson Mint in 1869.
