Unused sheet of four checks #657-660 dated 187_ with attached record stub. Eagle vignette in left corner. Has “Agency of Nev Bank, Virginia, Nev” counter stamp in purple ink. Carson City Savings Bank was incorporated in 1875 by D. Stadtmuller of Empire; Richard Kirman of Virginia; Jacob Klein; Geo. Tulley and others of Carson City. Initially the bank enjoyed good business but was poorly managed by a Geo. B. Hill that resulted in its going into voluntary liquidation and finally was succeeded in by the Bullion and Exchange Bank organized in 1884 by Senator Evan Williams, T. R.
