Very rare pass for this narrow gauge railroad incorporated in 1880 that ran from Mound House, Nevada (a V&T town) to Keeler, California. No.95, issued to B.H. Garland (Agent for Wabash R.R. Co.). Signed by Henry Yerington as President and General Superintendent. Printed on cardstock with some soiling. The Virginia & Truckee Railroad was the parent company for the C&C, but they sold the line to Southern Pacific in 1900. As the Comstock began to fade in the late 1870s/early 1880s, William Sharon, D.O. Mills, Yerington and others turned their attention to mining in the southern deserts. They conceived of the Carson & Colorado as an affordable and efficient line to exploit those mineral resources. (Prag Collection) City: State: Nevada Date: Inventory# 39035
