Incorporated in New York. Certificate number 856, issued for 500 shares to Henry Evesson on April 11th, 1872 in New York. Signed by president JB Simpson and secretary Newton Durfee. Not cancelled. Black border and print. Mine hoisting vignette on left, allegorical vignette at center. Printed by CO Jones, New York. Heavy folds, light wear. 6 x 10.5" The Central Gold Mining Company own 200 feet on the Gunnell, and have a shaft 180 feet deep, with a crevice of fourteen inches of ore. The shaft is in good order, except that the whim-house has been blown off. The surface of the mine is pretty well hogged out, and it has not been worked for two years. The Company also own 200 feet on the Prize Lode, Gold Hill, on which are three shafts, 90, 165, and 185 feet in depth respectively. [Hollister, 1867, p163]
