A collection of three robust, heart shaped brass locks from the Central Pacific Railroad Company. The locks each have the text 'C.P.R.R.' stamped on the vertical back plate, with additional identifying text varying from lock to lock: "CPRR, CPRR/ Cal.; CPRR Cal/C. Two of the locks are also stamped with the names of their manufacturers, Ritchie & Boyden of Newark, NJ and T. Slatch of Newark, NJ. One of the locks is in working order, with the other two stuck or dented. No keys included. This lot is by far one of the finest sets of early California Railroad locks ever offered. The CPRR of Cal (California) is rare enough - but to have all three varieties is impossible, yet here it is. circa 1868-1875.
