Lot of 28. Fabulous group of stereoviews and documents for the Central Pacific Railroad. 1) 1897. C.P.R.R. Deed for $150 signed by Isaac Requa as President. Rare signature. Requa was a central Nevada figure. From his 1905 obituary in The San Francisco Call: "Few men were probably more widely known in California than was Isaac L, Requa. In 1860 he went to Virginia City, where he was soon actively engaged in the milling and mining business, and finally became superintendent of the Chollar-Potosi Mining Company and a director in other big mining concerns. As a mining engineer he gained distinction, installing in the Chollar-Norcross-Savage shaft with the heaviest machinery used on the Comstock. He was president of the Central Pacific Railroad Company for many years and was also a director in other Huntington lines during the lifetime of the late Collis P. Huntington. He also was one of the initial financial associates of the Ralston's Bank of California in Virginia City. 2) 1870. Freight Office voucher with Nevada revenue stamp cancelled by CPRR stamp. 3) Eleven stereoviews. A variety of great views: Emigrant Gap, two of Cape Horn (near Colfax), Passenger Shed's (Oakland), Pullman's Commissary Car, Pullman's Palace Sleeping Car, two of Long Ravine Bridge, Prospect Hill Cut, two of Secret Town Trestle. Studios: Ingersoll, Hart, Houseworth, Savage, Watkins. 4) Eight Expense Bills from the 1870s-1880s. 5) 1880. Hand bill from Passenger and Ticket Department in San Francisco to Carson Station informing them that they can sell Special Book Tickets to Sacramento and Return. 6) 1879. Pay slip from Office of the Auditor to pay for Nov. Ticket Sales. Great vignette of railroad at top left. 7) 1876. Freight Office. Verifying contents at San Francisco Station (nails and tacks). 8) Two RPPCs: one of two children sitting next to train car (mailed); second is of train car with back with World's Fair in NY 1939 text notations. 9) Two train tickets for Central Pacific Sleeping Car Line from Sacramento to Ogden. 10) 1944.
