Raised company seal and green seal. Green border. Vignette on top center of certificate of train going by railroad workers. Assigned. Printed: American Bank Note Co. NY. Central of Georgia Railway started as Central Rail Road and Canal Company in 1833. It's purpose was to create a connection from Chattanooga, TN to Atlantic Ocean seaports. Two passenger trains on the line were named after race horses, the Nancy Hanks ran from Atlanta to Savannah, via Macon, and Man o' War, a ran on a Columbus - Atlanta route. During the Civil War, troops from the north destroyed the tracks between Nov. and Dec, 1864.
