This is a butterfly shaped ceremonial or banner stone at 4 in./ 102 mm X 3 in./ 77 mm with a 7/16 in. diameter drill-hole. Polished surface. Excellent condition, no defects. This piece has several old museum labels indicating it is from Scott County, Illinois. Archeologists are still uncertain as to the function of these stones but thought to be a good luck talisman.
