One of the nicest certificates we have seen - both in presentation and purpose. This certificate recognizes Charles Osborn, private, Company A, 24th Regiment. The 24th was sent to the Gulf and fought in several battles there and was eventually assigned to defend New Orleans. Presented on July 4, 1867 sand signed by Governor James English and Lt. Governor Ephraim Hyde. Portraits of Sedgwick, Foote and Lyon. Vignette of soldier leaving home and arriving back at home. Also the battle of the Monitor and Merrimac. Much attention to detail in this certificate. Heavy foxing.
