Yavapai County. Chaparral Hill Gold Mining Co. Cert #962. Incorporated in Maine. Temporary Certificate. Issued to Walter H. Buss for 100 shares in 1922. W. J. Davis as President and (illegible) as Treasurer. No vignette. Ornate orange border and safety print. U/C. Printer - John A. Lowell Bank Note Co., Boston, No. 5 Measures 12" x 8". No reference to this company was found in our library. A Chaparral MC leased the Jessie mine from 1909-1916, but eventually ran out of money. A placer gold claim called the  Chaparral lode in the Big Bug district of Yavapai was also present. This company was placed in Yavapai because of the presence of the Chaparral mining camp [Barnes, Arizona Place Names, 1988].
