This 12 ga. Side by Side shotgun was built by Crescent Arms of Norwich, Conn. for Chatham Arms, Co. S/N 75XX. The barrels are 29 1/2 in. long and marked "Twist Steel" across a very wide center rib. This is an exposed hammer gun with the left side hammer not working and brazed in-place. The right side hammer functions. Chatham Arms imported Belgium made guns between 1892-1932 and sold them under a great number of local company names. This is Belgian made gun with the serial number stamped under the barrels about an inch from the muzzle. It is also stamped with the date 1914 about mid-section of the under side rib. The matching serial number is also visible on the waterfall along with two Belgian proof marks. This gun is an antique and is in poor working order and not to be fired. The one time owner scratched his name and address on the butt stock: "Linzy Coleman, 1320 East 4th (st.), Clovis, New Mexico 1917". City: State: Date: HWAC# 51134
