Prospectus and by-laws of the Cheyenne Gold Mining Company, of the Black Hills, Dakota Territory. Mine located in the Great Mineral belt near Deadwood. New York. 1879. 24pp. Original pink pictorial wrappers, with text printed in gold. A very fine copy with original printed form letter from the mining company laid in. Prospectus for a South Dakota gold property just a couple years after the Homestake discovery before the Homestake boys really knew what they had. New York financed. The Dakota press harangued on the Company in 1880, stating that the investors were pushing too hard, and the management too inexperienced to be able t get into production in less than a year. By the mine was located on the south side of Deadwood Creek near Poorman's Gulch, a known rich placer. By 1884, the mine was for sale. Herzog Collection. South Dakota United States of America
