Choice! Inc. in Colorado. No. 624, issued for 500 shares to Fred Horn on Oct. 1st, 1896. Signed by president CC Rice and the secretary (illegible). Not cancelled. Gilt border. "Cripple Creek Gold Mining District" printed in gold in the background. Ornate logo with flowers and a mining vignette. Printed by Rand McNally & Co., Chicago. 8.25 x 11" Deep folds, otherwise very nice condition. Not listed in Hills. The company was involved in an 1899 lawsuit where the Matoa Gold Mining Co. alleged the Chicago-Cripple Creek had been entering their mine and taking ore. It seems to revolve around use of a tunnel built by the company that went through Gold Pass No. 1. [See: Mining & Sci. Press, April 8, 1899] () Ken Prag Collection
