Cert. #1423, issued at S.L.C. in 1898 to Nathan W. Hartwell for 1000 shares. Signed by H.W. Brown as president and W.E. Hubbard as secretary. Inc. in Utah. Mines located on Lion Hill, Ophir district, Tooele County, Utah printed at the top. In 1870, the town of Ophir and the Ophir district were established after rich silver ore was located on Silveropolis Hill. Several days later, additional discoveries were made on Lion Hill (Selected Mining Districts of Utah, Carl Ege, 2005). The Chloride Point Cons. Mining and Milling Company was listed as one of 15 producers in Tooele County in 1905 and 1906 (Min. Resources of the U.S. 1906).
