Small white ceramic saucer, possibly for hot chocolate, a specialty drink in the mid 1800's, much like espresso today. 2.75" diameter. Very fine, no damage. Hot chocolate was a Mesoamerican invention from ancient times. It was introduced to the Spanish during their periods of conquest, and in the 1700's-1800's was considered "aristocratic" and cost more than coffee.

Provenance: SS Central America Collection
